Snakes and Ladders morality game is an ancient Indian board game known as Moksha Patam. Regarded today as a worldwide classic, the game made its way from India to Victorian England in 1892 and has from that time on been known as Snakes and Ladders.

In the original game the square of virtue are Faith(12), Reliability(51), Generosity(57), Knowledge(76) and Asceticism(78). The squares of vice or evil are Disobedience(41), Vanity(44), Vulgarity(49), Theft(52), Drunkenness(62), Debt(69), Rage(84), Greed(92), Pride(95), Murder(73) and Lust(99).

These notations are not printed on this deluxe version from 1950 but can be included in the game by the players for additional enjoyment if desired.
