This carousel is made by Josef Wagner – the last tin toy maker in Germany. Featuring a globe of the world, circa 1952, with swinging chains hang with four attached flying gondolas and a lever-wind to rotate the carousel. Pull the attached lever then released and watch the gondolas circle high around the globe.
Every tin toy starts out as a flat sheet of metal that is printed and then cut into separate pieces. Each piece is then formed into it’s final shape through numerous tooling stations. The pieces are then hand assembled to create the final toy. So, minor marks and paint flaws can occur. All tin toys are produced in the same style as they were in the 1950’s and 60’s.
